When do we start looking for a photographer ?

Start looking for and booking your photographer as soon as you have decided on the date of your wedding which could be at least 12 to 18 months in advance - this will give you the advantage of finding a photographer whose work you admire and who represents good value.

How do we choose ?

Recommendation is always the best first step in the choosing process. Make an appointment with the photographer to arrange a viewing of his or her portfolio of wedding photographs. It is also important to meet the photographer who will actually be taking your wedding photographs on the day, as this will allow you to form a trust based relationship with him or her and ensure your satsfaction.

Do we need a professional photographer ?

Trusting uncle Freddy to take your wedding photographs - even though he may be a competent amateur photographer: is not a good idea ! Top quality wedding photography does not happen by chance, it requires quality equipment coupled with a photographer who has experience, a creative eye and a genuine love of working with people.
